Zephaniah ministered during the time of King Josiah of the Southern Kingdom of Judah. Judgement upon Judah was imminent but before that judgement the people would hear the word and warning from Zephaniah. This prophecy anticipates both the near historical Day of the LORD on Judah and the future final Day of the LORD upon the world, when the Lord Jesus Christ returns and establishes his kingdom on earth.
