2 Thessalonians<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

2 Thessalonians 1<\/span><\/p>\n

1:1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:<\/span><\/p>\n

1:2 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

1:3 We ought to always thank God for you brethren, as is worthy because your faith flourishes and the love of each one of you all to one another is increasing.<\/span><\/p>\n

1:4 Therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

1:5 evidence of a righteous judgment of God so that you be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.<\/span><\/p>\n

1:6 If indeed, it is right for God to pay back those who are afflicting you with affliction<\/span><\/p>\n

1:7 and to give relief to you who are being afflicted<\/span>
\n along with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels<\/span><\/p>\n

1:8 with flaming fire inflicting vengeance to those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n

1:9 These will pay the penalty\u2014eternal destruction, <\/span>
\n away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,<\/span><\/p>\n

1:10 when he comes to be glorified in his saints and be marveled at among all who have believed on that day\u2014 for our testimony to you was believed.<\/span><\/p>\n

1:11 To this end, we always pray for you that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power,<\/span><\/p>\n

1:12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Thessalonians 2<\/span><\/p>\n

2:1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the<\/span>
\n coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering to him, <\/span><\/p>\n

2:2 that you not be quickly shaken from your mind or disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has already come.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,<\/span><\/p>\n

2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so- called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself that he is God.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:5 Do you not remember that while I was with you I <\/span>
\n was telling you these things.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:6 And now you know what holds him back so that he will be revealed in his own time<\/span><\/p>\n

2:7 For the hidden power (mystery) of lawlessness is already at work; only he who restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:8 Then the lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of his mouth and nullify at the appearance of his coming,<\/span><\/p>\n

2:9 whose coming is in accordance with the operative power of Satan with all power and signs and false wonders,<\/span><\/p>\n

2:10 and with every kind of deception of unrighteousness for those who are perishing because they do not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:11 For this reason God is sending them a operative power of deception so that they would believe the lie,<\/span><\/p>\n

2:12 so that all who did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness may be judged.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brethren loved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through the sanctification by the Spirit and belief of truth.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:14 It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word (taught) or through a letter of ours.<\/span><\/p>\n

2:16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father who loved us and by grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,<\/span><\/p>\n

2:17 encourage and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word you say.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Thessalonians 3<\/span><\/p>\n

3:1 Finally, pray for us brethren, that the word of the Lord spread quickly and be honored just as it was with you<\/span><\/p>\n

3:2 and that we be delivered from perverse and evil men. For not all have faith.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:3 But the Lord is faithful who will strengthen us and will protect us from the evil one.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:4 We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we are commanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and the endurance of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who is living an undisciplined life not according to the tradition which they received from us.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:7 For you know yourselves how you must imitate us, because we did not live without discipline among you, <\/span>
\n3:8 and we did not eat anyone\u2019s food without paying but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you,<\/span><\/p>\n

3:9 not because we did not have the right but in order to offer ourselves as an example to you for you to imitate.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:10 For even when we were with you, we used to give you this command: \u201cIf anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

3:11 We hear that some living among you are living an undisciplined life, not doing their own work but are busybodies.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:12 Now such people we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ that by working quietly you eat your own bread.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:13 But you brethren, do no grow tired of doing good.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:14 If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take note of him\u2014not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:15 Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself grant to you peace at all times and in every way.<\/span><\/p>\n

3:17 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand, which is how I write in every letter.<\/span><\/p>\n
