Grace and peace to you<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:2 We always thank God for all of you, making mention of you constantly in our prayers,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:3 remembering your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before our God and Father,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:4 knowing brethren, loved of God, your election,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:5 because our gospel did not come to you in word only but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction just as you know what kind of men we proved among you for your sakes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:6 You also became imitators of us and the Lord,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1:10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead\u2014Jesus, who rescues us out of the coming wrath.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>1 Thessalonians 2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:1 For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you had not become vain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:2 But after we had already suffered and been mistreated in Philippi, just as you know, we had the courage in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:3 For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity nor with deceit,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so also we speak it, not as pleasing men but to God who examines our hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:5 For we never came on the scene with flattering speech, just as you know, nor with a pretext for greed \u2014God is witness\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:6 nor seeking glory from men, nor from you or from others,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:7 although we were able to be heavy with our authority as apostles of Christ; instead we became as little children among you as a nursing mother caring for her own children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:8 While being affectionate for you in this way, we are happy to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves because you have become loved by us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:9 For you recall, brethren, our labor and hardship, working night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:10 You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:11 Just as you know how we treated each one of you as a father would his own children,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:12 exhorting and encouraging and imploring you<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> that you walk worthy of the God who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but just as it truly is, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> that you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen just as they did from the Jews,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> and drove us out and they are not pleasing to God and are hostile to all men,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:16 hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved with the result that they always fill up the measure of their sins. But the wrath has come upon them<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> to the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:17 But when we were separated from you, brethren, for a short time\u2014in person but not in heart \u2014we were trying so hard with great desire to see your face.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:18 For we wanted to come to you\u2014certainly I, Paul, did, again and again\u2014but Satan hindered us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:19 For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2:20 For you are our glory and joy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>1 Thessalonians 3<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:1 Therefore when we could endure it no longer, we thought it best to be left behind at Athens alone,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:2 and we sent Timothy, our brother and God\u2019s fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you as to your faith,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:3 so that no one would be disturbed by these afflictions. For you yourselves know, we were destined for this.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:4 For in fact when we were with you, we were telling you ahead of time that we were going to suffer affliction; and it has happened, just as you know.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:5 For this reason, when I could endure it no longer, I also sent to find out about your faith, less somehow, he who keeps on tempting, tempted you and our labor had become in vain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you and has given to us good news of your faith and love and that you always have good memories of us longing to see us as we also long to see you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:7 for this reason, brethren, in all our distress and affliction we were encouraged about you through your faith;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:8 For now we are alive again, if you stand firm in the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:9 For what thanks can we render to God for you for all the joy with which we rejoice before our God on your account,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:10 praying earnestly night and day that we might see your face and complete what is lacking in your faith?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:11 Now may God our Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:12 and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3:13 so that your hearts may be established blameless<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>1 Thessalonians 4<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:1 Finally then, brethren, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God, just as you are walking, that you excel more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:2 For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:6 and that no one should sin against and take advantage of his brother in these matters because the Lord is the avenger of all these things just as we told you before and warned you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:7 For God did not call us to impurity but in sanctification.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:8 Therefore, he who rejects this does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:9 Now as to brotherly love, you do not need anyone to write you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:10 for you do the same toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:12 so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:13 But we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, so that you may not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:14 For we believe that Jesus died and arose, so also<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> we believe God will bring those with him who have fallen asleep through Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord that we who are alive, who are remaining at the coming of the Lord will not precede those who are asleep.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:16 Because the Lord himself, will come down with a command shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ will rise up first,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:17 then we who are alive, who are remaining will be snatched away together with them in the clouds for a meeting of the Lord in the air; And so we will always be with the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>1 Thessalonians 5<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:1 Now as to the times and the periods, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:2 For you know accurately that the day of the Lord will come just as a thief in the night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:3 When they are saying, \u201cPeace and safety!\u201d then sudden destruction comes on them just like labor pain on a pregnant woman and they will not escape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:6 So then we should not be sleeping as the rest, but must stay alert and sober.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:7 For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:9 Because God has not destined us for wrath but through obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:12 Now we ask you, brethren, to respect those who labor among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5:13 and to esteem them most highly in love because of their work.
